In 2021 M HKA and the Tselinny Center of Contemporary Culture signed a memorandum on their cooperation concerning art from a wider regional Central Asian perspective and Kazakhstani position, with an international horizon and to their institutional cooperation. As part of this partnership, the Tselliny generously engages with our M HKA through annually acquiring and collecting works from the region, and donating them to M HKA. The selection of works aims to be a reflective moment, using the selection procedure organised by Tselinny committee. These works form part of the Shagylys collection, which in Kazakh means ‘reflection’.
