What does it mean to be Kazakh?

Decoloniality of Knowledge, Being and Sensing Sensation [«Деколониальность бытия, знания и ощущения»], a collection of articles by researcher Madina Tlostanova was the first project implemented as a part of the publishing programme of the Tselinny Center for Contemporary Culture.
The exhibition of contemporary artists Saule Suleymenova and Medina Bazargali, whose works are mentioned in the collection of articles by Madina Tlostanova, was opened in Tselinny Temporary space connected to this event. The works of Saule Suleymenova and Medina Bazargali reflect some urgent issues of a person going through a complex process of decolonisation and awareness of his or her place in society. The book discusses the theme of the decolonial turn and its significance for the post-Soviet areas. Within the exhibition project, Saule Suleimenova presented several silk screen printings, as well as her works from the Cellophane Painting series, which has been in progress since 2014 to date. Medina Bazargali presented her film Decolonising Kurt.
