Scholar in Residence

In 2022, the Tselinniy Center of Contemporary Culture launched the Scholar in the Residence Program. This initiative enables international scholars to engage with the academic community in Almaty. The primary goal is to create an intellectual environment through interactions with local artists, theoretical scholars, and public intellectuals, facilitating a rich exchange of cultural, social, and ideological perspectives. 

The Tselinniy Center actively supports scholars in advancing their current and upcoming projects. To facilitate this, the program provides a research tour of the region and accommodations for both work and living. Scholars also receive a daily allowance to help with expenses. They benefit from a flexible schedule, with the option to stay for a period ranging from one week to six months. 

We encourage an open exchange of knowledge and invite scholars to share lectures, present their ideas, and support their publications. As a social and non-profit organization, we view this initiative as a vital tool for fostering fresh and innovative perspectives, expanding regional boundaries, and enhancing cultural dialogue.
