
The Re-Practice Lab is an annual interdisciplinary programme focused on mastering cutting-edge artistic practices, and a special emphasis on working with new media among others. The lab makes special consideration of experimental art forms and new technologies. Every day for two months, a group of 15 participants selected through an open call will learn the basics of creating installations, exhibition production, animation, video installations, sound art, etc.

Almagul Menlibayeva "How to create a multichannel site-specific video installation?"
The Multichannel Video Installation and Artistic Performance Recording Workshop is for artists, designers and anyone interested in creating immersive video installations. The workshop will cover the following topics: concept development, technical aspects, spatial and sound design, audience interaction, recording of artistic performances and their integration into video installations. In addition, we will discuss an intersection of art and video installations, performance recording and video post-processing techniques. We will also consider differences in the language of images in the Fine Art and cinema.
Aigerim Tumenbay "Animation Workshops"
The programme aims to teach students the basics of animation and introduce the mechanics of the process in a short hands-on session. The course will help you not be afraid of "movement" and give students the tools to make their images move. During the course, I offer my students to think out an idea, consisting of some parts animated using different techniques, and at the end of the programme, the students shall combine the story into one animated video 1-3 minutes long.
Dmitriy Morozov/a.k.a. ::vtol:: "Techniques and methods of sound art practices"
The course focuses on creating composite interactive projects with different media – first of all sound. During classes we will use the development environment such as max/msp and pure data, and learn how to program generative performances and sound installations on ther basis, as well as get to know some key approaches in creating complex technical objects d'art.
Anastasia Tolchneva/a.k.a. Lovozero "The performativity of Sound"
The course focuses on performative and technological practical training with sound. During the course we will explore the perception of sound and motivations for its production, learn techniques for creating basic digital tools for working with sound events and experimental practices for creating sound performance art.
Ildar Yakubov "TouchDesigner - the Art of Designing"
In this course, we will learn more about the benefits of working with TouchDesigner and try to apply them to our own artistic practice.
Maria Peskova "The Basics of Alternative Printing Methods"
During the course, we will learn the following techniques: cyanotype, silkscreening, monotyping, and dry needling; delve deeper into the origins and learn how to conduct an analysis by experimenting, archiving and reviewing your own processes and meanings in your handmade sketchbooks.
Konstantin Petruk "The Short Course in Production Management"
Together with the course participants, we will get know how the lifetime cycle of an event (exhibition, live event) is arranged from the point of view (with real examples), understand how to maximise the benefits of the venue for the implementation of your project, as well as learn how to use the SketchUp Pro tools for quick visualisation of your ideas and event design.
Anvar Musrepov "Time Based Media: screen, displays and material forms of the digital art"
In this course, we will analyse video in the context of the development of visual arts as a main artistic tool. In the theoretical section, we will consider a relevant study on moving images investigated avant-garde experiments of the early twentieth century, the development of video art since the first handheld cameras and contemporary practices of working with the digital image. The practical section will focus on learning the basic methods of creating video essays and video installations, as well as the basic techniques of working with the narrative: working with collected and filmed material; working with space in conditions of displaying video in the exhibition premises.
